Freshers Takeover: Performative Tour & Talk

The Tour with Role Play

Are you one of the artist siblings? An art critique? Or perhaps you just are just ‘a little’ sceptical about everything? Join an experience exploring playful theatre methods of improvisation and respond to the artwork in character along interventions from other performers in the group. This tour welcomes audiences 18 + looking for interactive public art experiences, open to be challenged.

In partnership with London Metropolitan University, MA student in Public Art and Performative Practices, Maurane Gadeau (Mrs Blues), will be leading a tour inspired by theatre methods aiming to entertain playful yet reflective interactions with public art.

Participants are invited to select a roleplay card to perform during the tour as they reflect and interact with the group, as well as respond to the sculptures.

Date & Time: Saturday 28th September 3pm – 5:30pm

Location: The Leadenhall Building, 122 Leadenhall St, EC3V 4AB (underneath the escalators)

The tour is followed by conversation & drinks in the City of London.

The Silent Tour

Embark on a journalistic journey with moments of pause and questions exploring somatic responses in relation to the artworks in the sculpture park. This tour welcomes audiences aged 18+ fostering introspective public art experiences.

In partnership with London Metropolitan University, MA student in Public Art and Performative Practices, Maurane Gadeau (Mrs Blues), will be leading a tour inspired by somatic methods aspiring to unfold individuals experiences and dialogues with public art.

Participants are invited to multiply silent pauses as they progress along the route, to later share feedback, notes or drawings capturing what they noticed about the tour, through silence.

About Mrs. Blues:

 

Born as Maurane Gadeau (Côte d’Ivoire), Mrs. Blues is a multidisciplinary artist who develops a jazzistic practice aiming towards emotional freedom. Working across mixed medias installation, performance and music, she will graduate from an MA in Public Art and Performative Practices at London Metropolitan in 2024. Her current research focuses around public art experiences fostering patternology and healing.

As part of the newly launched Freshers Takeover for SITC, she is leading two tours inspired by meditative somatic methods and playful theatrical approaches, aspiring to draw the public towards unfolding introspective dialogues.

    The closest rail stations are Liverpool Street, Moorgate and Fenchurch Street. Underground stations are located at Liverpool Street, Bank, Monument and Aldgate.

    The area is easily accessible by bus routes 25, 35, 40, 47, 48, 149 and 344.
