Design your own Sculpture for the City: Part 1
Watch the short animation below to set the scene for Chapter 7.
Design a Sculpture for St Helen’s Square or under ‘The Cheesegrater’ through:
- Learning important themes to consider when designing public art: Context, Scale, Materials and Form.
- Using the map of the area and key information provided re context, to choose one of the three sculpture locations.
- Considering how the area might provide inspiration.
- Sketching initial sculpture ideas for chosen location considering the key themes.
These creative activities provide a learning journey that develop skills and knowledge relating to Art & Design National Curriculum targets for ages 10-14 (years 6-9).
